New sprouts covered in snow.

Snow in Spring

Happy March! Here in Colorado, we mix our blossoms with blizzards, and this March is no exception. March is also my birth month, and I am notorious for celebrating all month long. In southern Illinois, where I grew up, spring is usually fully in bloom by my birthday in late March. But here in Colorado, March is typically the snowiest month of the year. The weather goes back and forth a lot, too. It was 70 degrees on March 1st when I bought my traditional bouquet of hyacinths. But today the little buds on our maple tree are already covered up again with yesterday's snow.

Do you have a tradition you rely on to ring in the spring? I'd love to know about it, if so!
