Be Still Sometimes

Be Still Sometimes

I'm on a quest to slow down.

My day job - which is super rewarding - is also super busy this time of year. Combine that with publishing two books and working on a third, and I am feeling the stress. I've been prioritizing rest and wellness for the last two weeks (well, learning to prioritize it). Turns out, I am not good at it. But I want to get better.

This poem by English poet Rose Cook came my way today and it spoke right to the core of my soul. Don't you love how words can do that? And poetry especially can just cut through the jumble and help me breathe. I thought you all might need to hear this, too.

Wherever you find yourself lately - physically, mentally, emotionally - know I'm sending you lots of warmth and light. If you need me, I'll be curled up with this good boy.

An adorable brindle-striped mutt named Pete.
