A Dream Realized.

A Dream Realized.

What a journey!

After so many years, Love on Paper is a real live book. I have nurtured this story for so long, you all. I started writing it when life was rough - I was going through infertility, job insecurity, and the isolation that comes from working exclusively at home - but when I was immersed in the characters' lives, my own struggles seemed to melt away.

It's a little embarrassing to admit, but it started with Twilight

I'd just read the first book, then watched the movie, and I finally understood the fuss about Robert Pattinson. "If I were Stephenie Meyer, I would have lived on that film set," I remember thinking. And that's where the idea for Love on Paper began: with a romance author on her way to visit the set of the film being made about her book. The author was reluctant; she didn't want to go. I wasn't sure why - it sounded like so much fun to me - but I listened to her as I wrote and she told me. It sounds weird, but it's true. I listened, I wrote, I wrestled with plot points, and ten months later I had a first draft.

And then I spent years working up the courage to publish it.

There were lots of reasons, but aside from my own nervousness, the biggest was that we'd conquered the infertility (with lots of help!) and had twin babies. I couldn't do much other than tend to tiny kids and my real job for a few years. But all the while, I was refining my sweet book (and even writing the sequel!). I loved the characters too much to give up on them, so they waited and I waited until the time was right. And hurray! That time is finally now.

Love on Paper came out February 3rd, and outside of raising those twins I mentioned, it's the best thing I've ever done. I'm so, so happy to share it with you.
